The Dewsbury District Hospital is part of the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust. The trust has two neonatal units based at Dewsbury District Hospital and Pontefract General Infirmary.

 14 Special Care Cots

 17 Special Care Cots

 Both Neonatal Units have facilities for parents to be resident with their infants, in preparation for discharge home or when establishing breastfeeding. Dewsbury Neonatal Unit has three community neonatal outreach sisters who provide follow on care following discharge for the neonates within the Dewsbury and District areas.

However neonates requiring surgery, cardiac anomalies or neurological problems that require further investigation are transferred to more specialised units

However do not accept infants below 28 weeks gestational age, or infants requiring surgery, cardiac anomalies or neurological problems, that require further investigation are transferred to more specialised units.

Donations

If you would like to make a donation to our unit please contact the nursing staff. Cheques and donations can be sent to the unit and a receipt and thank you letter will be sent.
